📋 Requirements
- Not being a citizen of the EU, EEA, or Switzerland
- Not being in an irregular situation in Spanish territory (apply from home country)
- Lack of criminal records in Spain and in countries of residence for the last 5 years
- Not appearing as inadmissible
- Not representing a threat to public order, security, or public health
- Not being within the commitment period of no return
- Pay the corresponding fee
Sufficient Economic Means:
- For the applicant: 400% of the monthly IPREM
- For each family member: additional 100% of the monthly IPREM
- Means must cover the ENTIRE requested period
- Without the need to carry out work or professional activity
Other Requirements:
- Public or private health insurance authorized to operate in Spain
- Not suffering from diseases with serious public health repercussions
📄 Required Documentation
General Documents:
- Official application form EX-01
- Complete copy of passport with minimum validity of 1 year
- Criminal record certificate from countries of residence for the last 5 years
- Medical certificate
Accreditation of Economic Means: Can be accredited by any means of proof:
- Property titles
- Certified checks
- Credit cards with bank certification of available funds
- Bank statements
- If means come from shares/participations: certification that you do NOT carry out work activity + sworn declaration
Health Insurance:
- Public or private insurance policy
- Entity authorized to operate in Spain
- Full coverage without copays or with minimal copays
Important:
- Application is submitted at the Spanish Consulate of the home country
- Foreign documents must be translated by a sworn translator
- Foreign public documents must be legalized or apostilled
Fees:
- Modelo 790 code 052, section 2.1.1
Duration:
- Initial authorization: 1 year
- Renewable for periods of 2 years
