The Residence Authorization for Job Search or Business Project Start-up is a special permit of up to 12 months granted to foreign students who have completed their studies in Spain. It allows you to remain legally in the country while you look for employment as an employee or develop your business project.

Procedure Information

📋 Requirements
  • Not be a citizen of the EU, EEA or Switzerland
  • Have completed studies in Spain of:
    • Higher education (bachelor's, master's, doctorate)
    • Vocational Training of intermediate or higher degree
    • Professional training in plastic arts and design of higher degree
  • Have completed the training within the 2 years prior to the application
  • Have no criminal record
  • Not represent a threat to public order or security
  • Have sufficient financial means for your maintenance
  • Have medical insurance public or private
  • Pay the corresponding fee

Important:

  • The student permit must be valid at the time of application (or have expired less than 90 days ago)
📄 Required Documentation

General Documents:

  • Official application form (EX-13)
  • Copy of complete passport or travel document
  • Criminal record certificate from countries of residence (if applicable)

Accreditation of Completed Studies:

  • Official degree or academic certification accrediting the completion of studies
  • Certificate from the educational center with:
    • Full denomination of the studies
    • Start and end dates
    • Confirmation of completion and approval

Financial Means:

  • Documentation proving possession of 100% of the monthly IPREM
  • Can be: bank statements, scholarships, grants, letter of commitment for maintenance from family members

Health Insurance:

  • Public or private insurance policy
  • With coverage in Spain
  • Without copayments or with very low copayments
