Residency for Training is a novel opportunity that allows you to obtain a residence authorization in exchange for committing to complete regulated employment training. If you have been in Spain for two years, this pathway allows you to regularize your status while acquiring the necessary skills to integrate into the Spanish labor market.

Procedure Information
📋 Requirements
- Not be a citizen of the EU, EEA, or Switzerland
- Be in Spain (not be an applicant for international protection)
- Have remained in Spain continuously for at least 2 years (maximum absences: 90 days)
- Lack criminal records in Spain and in countries of residence for the last 5 years
- Not be listed as inadmissible
- Not represent a threat to public order, security, or public health
- Not be within the commitment period of no return
- Pay the corresponding fee
- Social integration report issued by the Autonomous Community or City Council
AND MEET ONE of these training options:
Option A - Regulated Training:
- Be enrolled in or studying:
- Post-compulsory secondary education full-time
- Professional certificates grade C, levels 1, 2, and 3
- Compulsory adult education courses (in-person)
Option B - Public Employment Service Training:
- Commit to complete training promoted by Public Employment Services
- Oriented toward occupations in the Catalog of Hard-to-Fill Occupations
- Accredit enrollment within 3 months from the date of grant
📄 Required Documentation
General Documents:
- Official application form model EX-10
- Complete copy of valid passport or travel document
- Documentation of continuous stay in Spain for 2 years:
- Municipal registration certificates (empadronamiento)
- Public hospitalization or medical consultation documents
- Municipal, regional, or state documentation
- Criminal record certificate from countries of residence for the last 5 years
Specific Documentation:
- Social integration report issued by the Autonomous Community or City Council
- Commitment to complete the training (on official form or in writing)
- Enrollment in the planned training
If you are already studying:
- Certificate from the educational center accrediting:
- Full name of the studies
- Start and end dates
- Current enrollment status
Fees:
- Form 790 code 052, section 2.3.1
Important:
- Foreign documents must be translated by a sworn translator
- Foreign public documents must be legalized or apostilled
- Enrollment must be accredited within 3 months from the date of grant
