Immigration Regulations · RD 1155/2024 · RD 316/2026

Residence for Exceptional Circumstances

Routes to regularize a situation in Spain based on arraigo, family ties, humanitarian grounds, cooperation with authorities, public interest or specific 2026 extraordinary rules.

2026 deadline warning

The extraordinary regularization under RD 316/2026 had a specific filing window until 30 June 2026. If that window has passed, ordinary arraigo or other residence routes must be reviewed.

Main arraigo routes

Social arraigoContinued stay, integration or family ties with legal residents.
Sociolaboral arraigoContinued stay and one or several employment contracts meeting salary and working-time rules.
Socioformativo arraigoContinued stay and a valid training commitment.
Family arraigoQualified family ties, especially with Spanish citizens or legally defined family cases.
Second-chance arraigoPeople who previously held residence and lost it in certain circumstances.

Common requirements

  • Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationality.
  • Physical presence in Spain.
  • No relevant criminal record.
  • Not listed as inadmissible.
  • No public-order, public-security or public-health threat.
  • Evidence for the specific route: stay, work, training, family tie, previous residence or vulnerability.

Filing strategy

The most important step is choosing the correct route. A weak or incorrectly framed file can cause months of delay. We build a timeline, classify evidence by date and type, and prepare the legal explanation before filing.
