1. If you applied for asylum (international protection)

Mandatory requirements

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be in Spain
• Lack authorization to stay or reside
• Not be in another immigration procedure
• Not have previously held temporary protection
• Have an identity document:
  • Passport
  • ID card
  • Valid travel document
• Have been in Spain for at least 5 continuous months
• Have no criminal record
• Not pose a threat to public security or health
• Not be subject to an entry ban
• Have paid the fee

Additional condition

• Have filed an asylum application before 2026-01-01

2. Exceptional ties

Mandatory requirements

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be in Spain
• Lack legal documentation
• Not be in another procedure
• Not have previously held temporary protection
• Have an identity document
• Have been in Spain for at least 5 continuous months
• Have no criminal record
• Not pose a public risk
• Not be subject to an entry ban
• Have paid the fee

Meet one of the following criteria

Employment:

• Have worked
• Have a job offer
• Declare intent to work

Family:

• Reside with minor children
• Reside with dependent children
• Reside with parents

Vulnerability:

• Certificate of vulnerability

Additional condition

• Be in Spain before 2026-01-01
